Our Origin Story
An American Boutique Experience
More than a country estate, The Inn at Warner Hall is a living chapter of American heritage. Established in 1642 by Augustine Warner I, whose descendants include the inaugural President of the United States and English royalty, this storied estate has welcomed some of the most influential names in history. Restored with thoughtful reverence, Warner Hall embodies centuries of legacy appointed for modern travelers.
Beyond Warner Hall
Explore centuries-old landmarks, become fully immersed in revolutionary history at Colonial Williamsburg, or visit nearby waterfront towns for boutique shopping, fine dining, and scenic river excursions. For those craving outdoor exploration, the Chesapeake Bay and York River State Park offer stunning natural beauty, hiking trails, and wildlife encounters.
Around the Grounds
Begin your morning with a leisurely walk to our boathouse on the Severn River. Settle into a wicker rocker on the River Porch and take in views of the pastoral landscape. If you're seeking adventure, explore the grounds by hiking, biking, kayaking, canoeing, or playing a round of croquet on the lawn. And honor the legacy of the Warner and Lewis families in the centuries-old cemetery.
Inside the Inn
The Drawing Room’s crackling fireplace and inviting furnishings create the perfect setting to settle in with a book or enjoy a game of chess or checkers. Toast to your travels with a fireside glass of wine in The Washington Parlor, which elegantly invites conversation and connection.
Set in Stone
Just beyond the manor, beneath centuries-old trees, lies Warner Hall Cemetery—a resting place for the Warner and Lewis families, including ancestors of George Washington, Meriwether Lewis, and Queen Elizabeth II. These 14 weathered stones, some inscribed with tender verse, offer a rare, intimate connection to the earliest chapters of the American legacy.
